Middle Tennessee State University is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to operate non-commercial FM radio stations:
89.5 Megahertz: WMOT-FM, 100,000 watts effective radiated power (ERP), antenna at 205 meters height above average terrain (HAAT), 384 meters height above mean sea level (HAMSL). FCC File Number BLED-961105KA. Facility ID 41997.
92.5 Megahertz: Translator W223BE, 10 watts effective radiated power (ERP), antenna at 641 meters height above mean sea level (HAMSL). FCC File Number BLFT-20070726AAQ. Facility ID 147653.
The studios of both stations are located in the Learning
Resource Center, second floor.
WMOT operates with a power of 100,000 watts, Class C1, the maximum
power allowed by the FCC. The directional 5 bay antenna was manufactured
and installed by Electronics Research Inc. The analog transmitter is
a Broadcast Electronics FM-35B. The digital transmitter is a Harris HD-12. The tower is located near Gladeville,
Tennessee in Wilson County.
WMTS operates with a three bay Jampro antenna from the former WMOT
tower east of the MTSU campus. The transmitter is a 500 watt Crown
Electronics.
