NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Republican state Sen. Mae Beavers has raised short of $37,000 in her bid for Tennessee governor.

The Mt. Juliet lawmaker filed her campaign finance report Monday. It also includes $20,000 transferred from her Senate campaign account. Beavers has about $55,400 cash on hand through June. She joined the race last month.

The senator known for pushing socially conservative policies came well short of other candidates' fundraising totals.

The top haul came from Republican Randy Boyd. He says he has raised $2.3 million, added $2 million of his own money in his bid for governor and has $3.5 million cash left.
