MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Middle Tennessee State is now Bowl Game eligible, thanks to a down to the wire win last night over archrival Western Kentucky.
Middle Tennessee eked out 34-29 victory, moving them into second place in the Sun Belt Conference.
The hard fought game was tied three different times.
In the final minutes Reggie Whatley ran 96 yards for a touchdown to put the Blue Raiders ahead. Kenneth Gilstrap pulled down a crucial interception to stall WKU’s final drive.
The Blue Raider’s next game comes Nov. 17 when they travel to Mobile to play South Alabama. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. and you can hear the game right here on WMOT.
