MTSU faces Old Dominion in C-USA matchup

goblueraiders.com

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (BEASLEY)  --  In a short week of preparation, the Blue Raiders (2-2, 1-0 C-USA) will travel to Norfolk, Va., to play the Old Dominion Monarchs (3-1, 1-0 CUSA) this Friday.

Old Dominion, in only its sixth season of football, is hosting its first Conference USA home game in the school’s history. The Monarchs defeated C-USA defending champion Rice last week.

The Monarchs are led by quarterback Taylor Heinicke who has thrown for over 1,000 yards this season and over 13,000 in his career.

The Blue Raiders will look to counter Heinicke and the Old Dominion offense by establishing their run game in the same way they approached Western Kentucky earlier in the season.

Not only is this the first C-USA home game for the Monarchs, but it will be the team’s white-out game as well.

Kickoff inside S.B. Ballard Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and pre-game coverage can be heard starting at 5:30 p.m. on 89.5 WMOT.
