To celebrate the new academic year at MTSU, the School of Music is bringing new and returning concert-series performances to the Wright Music Building for fall 2012.
Included in the fall 2012 line-up are the MTSU Artist Series, the Stones River Chamber Players concert series, the MTSU Guest Pianist Series and the MTSU Jazz Artist Series. All the concerts will be held in Hinton Music Hall inside the Wright Music Building on campus.
In contrast to the sweltering temperature most of Nashville is experiencing in the middle of summer, Nashville Ballet is celebrating Christmas in July by offering cool discounts on tickets to one of Nashville’s newest holiday traditions, Nashville’s Nutcracker, which will return to TPAC’s Jackson Hall for 11 performances Dec. 9 - 23.
This Thursday through Saturday MTSU will host the 11th annual Tennessee Guitar Festival and Competition in Hinton Hall of the Wright Music Building on the MTSU Campus, with registration beginning at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the Wright Music Building lobby.
With over $3,000 of prize money available this competition will bring in some of America’s best young guitarists to compete for the $1,500 first prize.
Ballet, Symphony Debut Rite of Spring with Live Music
Stravinsky is Sensual, Seductive, Steamy and Savage on Stage
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 21, 2012) – Nashville Ballet will present Rite of Spring and Firebird together for the first time with live music from The Nashville Symphony, in a double-bill of Igor Stravinsky masterpieces April 27 – 29 at TPAC’s Jackson Hall.
Tennessee Valley Winds Community Concert Band Performance
Murfreesboro, TN- The Tennessee Valley Winds in association with The Friends of the Greenway and Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department will perform a free concert under the direction of Mr. Erich Zimmerman, on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2PM. The rain date is May 6, 2012. Admission to the concert is free. This concert is presented as a part of the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department.
