Veteran's Workshop Tuesday at Nashville Armory

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP/WMOT) — Middle Tennessee Congressional Rep. Jim Cooper is hosting a free veterans workshop Tuesday at the Tennessee National Guard Armory in Nashville.

More than 40 government agencies and private organizations will be on hand to provide assistance with things like GI benefits, home loan guarantees, benefits and pensions, small business loans, homeowner financing, employment training and educational opportunities.

The workshop is billed as a veterans event, but Congressman Cooper says active duty personnel and family members might also wish to attend.

Music City Honor Flight Paying for the Excursion

Tennessee Veterans Enjoy "Honor Flight"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP/WMOT) — A large group of Middle Tennessee veterans are getting an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C.

About 100 vets and their guardians will depart from Nashville International Airport today on a so-called “honor flight” to visit the World War II Memorial  in the nation’s capital.

The Nashville non-profit Music City Honor Flight is paying for the excursion as a way to thank the veterans for their war-time service.
