Val Hoeppner

Executive Director

Val Hoeppner is the executive director of WMOT 89.5, executive producer of Wired In, 895 Fest, 895 Sessions, 895 Feast and the AmericanaFest Day Stage presented by WMOT, World Cafe and NPR Music. Hoeppner joined WMOT in 2014 and helped transition WMOT from mixed format to American Roots in 2016.

Hoeppner also serves as the director for the Center for Innovation in Media at MTSU, supporting student media at Middle Tennessee State University.

Hoeppner moved to Nashville in 2008 to work for John Seigenthaler as the director of education for the Diversity Institute after a 20-year career in newspapers and media.

Tim O'Brien and his band joined the WMOT Public Radio Music Day celebration with a video session at East Iris Studios, Feb. 24, 2020. O'Brien's most recent album Tim O'Brien Band was released in 2019 and included the song "Diggin' My Potatoes".

My Sister, My Brother on Inspiration During Uncertain Times My Sister, My Brother is debuting their quarantine inspired virtual video for “Forever Now” on WMOT.

This comes on the heels of their recent self-titled EP release on March 6, 2020.

Brian Wright brought his band of six Sneakups into the studio at East Iris for WMOT's East Iris Studios video sessions in late February 2020. Brian Wright and the Sneakups new album "Lapse of Luxury" will be released on Cafe Rooster Records May 8, 2020.

Nashville artist Will Hoge joined WMOT at East Iris Studios back in February 2020 for our Public Radio Music Day video sessions. Hoge debuted "The Curse" on WMOT for Public Radio Music Day, April 16. 2020. The full album, Tiny Little Movies will be released June 26, 2020.
