NASHVILLE, Tenn. (OSBORNE) -- Music Row has been named to a list of the nation’s most endangered historical treasures, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation is asking Nashvillians to get involved.
The Washington DC based Trust ranked Music Row second on it’s List of America’s Most Endangered Historic Places for 2019.
The Trust calls The Row a “world class musical mecca.” It says the concentration of roughly 200 music related businesses makes it “unlike any other place in the world.”
The report goes on to note that some 50 Music Row sites have been demolished since 2013, victims of the city’s rapid development.
The Trust is calling on residents to sign on to an open letter addressed to Metro lawmakers urging them to ensure the area is “enhanced by new development, not destroyed by it.”
