Let's be real – things are strange right now. We’re feeling confused and we don't know what's going to happen this week or next. For lots of us, daily patterns of life might suddenly be looking a lot different right now and the news changes quickly from day to day. But we know we will need music.

We know - even more than usual - that we are likely going to be yearning for human connection in the weeks ahead, too. To the extent that each of us is limiting our time out or our brains are filled with extra precautions, it means that finding connection to each other through music is all the more vital. At WMOT, we are here for you and we know how important it is to bring you the music and community that you want and need.

It’s also important that we continue asking you for support during our spring drive this week. Your support right now is vital to ensuring that the music and community you rely on every day continues to thrive.

To that end, when you support WMOT today Subaru will provide five backpacks to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee for each donation made to WMOT. The Backpack program at Second Harvest provides a child with food for an entire weekend. We hope to feed 1500 children in middle Tennessee during this fund drive.

On April 14 our business partners Ascend Federal Credit Union, Contract Management Services and The Alley on Main each matched $1000 to Second Harvest. Andy Womack’s State Farm Office in Murfreesboro matched $1000 to Nourish Murfreesboro. That’s 16,000 meals our donors and business partners provided.

I’M HERE FOR THE MUSIC AND OUR COMMUNITY

Community support is an essential part of who we are at WMOT and, I hope you’ll take the opportunity to help keep this music community strong while supporting the important work of our food banks. Do something to feel good today, to take action today, to protect your home for music today and help Second Harvest and Nourish Murfreesboro provide meals for school children and others. Please make a gift to WMOT, now.
