Manhunt ends with arrest of 2nd suspect in shooting death of Nashville nurse on I-440

MNPD

NASVHILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Nashville Police on Tuesday arrested a second suspect in connection with the early December shooting death of a Nashville nurse on I-440.

Authorities said in a social media post that 28-year-old James Cowan was captured at an Antioch apartment complex late Tuesday night.

Police said earlier that cell phone tracking data suggests Cowan was in the car from which fatal shots were fired at Nurse Caitlyn Kaufman as she drove to work on the morning of December 3.

Cowan is a friend of suspect Devaunte Hill. Police say Hill implicated himself in Kaufman’s murder under questioning just days after the shooting. Hill has since been charged with criminal homicide.
