NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- The number of new cases of COVID-19 reported by Nashville health officials has this week fallen to its lowest point in months.
Metro reported 44 new cases Tuesday. Thirty confirmed infections were reported Monday. You have to go all the way back to the end of May to see daily new case counts that low.
Over the past seven days Nashville officials have reported 635 COVID-19 cases. That’s down 27 percent from the previous week.
However, three of the eight key metrics Metro uses to gauge the success of its battle against coronavirus remain stubbornly high. They include available hospital beds, available ICU beds, and the number of new cases per 100 thousand residents.
