NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- The Tennessee Department of Health plans to launch pop-up, drive-thru, coronavirus, testing sites statewide Saturday and Sunday.
The tests will be conducted by the Tennessee National Guard at 15 locations, including eight sites in Middle Tennessee.
Health officials are also loosening test qualifications. Previously, specific COVID-19 symptoms had to be present before Tennesseans could get a test. But Gov. Bill Lee yesterday announced that anyone not feeling well “for any reason” will be able to get a rapid test.
The governor also reminded residents that testing is available weekdays at state health centers in all 95 Tennessee counties. He notes that many health care providers are also now offering the COVID-19 tests.
