Tennessee non-profits chosen to distribute $150 million in pandemic aid

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has released $150 million in federal stimulus funding to some 650 non-profit agencies statewide.

State officials say the grants will be used to support Tennesseans who’ve “experienced economic hardship due to COVID-19.”

Aid can include housing, food relief, education expenses, and public health assistance.

Agencies receiving the funds were chosen by the governor’s Financial Stimulus Accountability Group. Lee formed the group in April to distribute the more than $2 billion Tennessee received as part of the CARES Act approved by Congress in March.
