MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Middle Tennessee State basketball’s gotten it’s new season off to a great start with some big wins.
The Lady Raiders kicked things off Friday night with a decisive 87-45 win against Kennesaw State in the first round of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament.
Also Friday night the Middle Tennessee men administered an equally decisive 97-53 drubbing to Alabama State in their season-opener.
Then yesterday afternoon senior Lady Raider forward Icelyn Elie racked up a career high 30 points to lead her team to an 82-68 victory over the Memphis Tigers.
The MT men travel to Savannah State tomorrow for the first road test of the season. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
The Lady Raiders visit Iowa for the semifinals of the Preseason WNIT on Wednesday night.
