MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- A last second field goal gave the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders a nail-biter of a victory over the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Saturday.
The win leaves MTSU 5-4 on the season, 3-2 in Conference USA.
In the final minutes of the game, QB Logan Kilgore found Marcus Henry for a 33-yard reception, putting MT at the one-yard line with seconds on the clock. Kicker Cody Clark found the uprights from 18-yards out for a field goal to give MT its second consecutive down-to-the-wire victory.
Kilgore finished the game 11-of-22 with two touchdowns, an interception and 160 yards. Reggie Whatley set a new career record with 155 yards on 15 carries.
Middle Tennessee will be back at home for their next match this Saturday. The Blue Raiders face FIU in a game scheduled to be televised on the Fox College Sports network.
