‘MTSU On the Record’ Rolls Up Its Sleeves to Discuss ‘True Blue Blood Drive’

MTSU’s latest contribution to the continuing need for blood in the region is the subject of the next edition of the “MTSU On the Record” radio program.

Host Gina Logue’s interview with Regina Raccuglia Conway, communications manager for the Tennessee Valley Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross, will air from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, and from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, on WMOT-FM (89.5 and www.wmot.org).

Conway is promoting the “True Blue Blood Drive,” which is slated for Oct. 21-23 at MTSU’s Student Health, Wellness and Recreation Center.

Appointments are available from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, and Wednesday, Oct. 23.

“Blood is a perishable product,” Conway said. “It can only stay on the shelf for 42 days. … The need is constant because this stuff doesn’t last forever, and we’ll always have patients.”

MTSU donors may visit www.redcrossblood.org, click the blue “Enter a Sponsor Code” box and enter “MTSU19” to make an appointment. However, the blood drive is not limited to the campus community.
