MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Police say shots have been fired into apartments along S. Rutherford Blvd. two days in a row.
On Thursday, Murfreesboro Police say a shot was fired into a University Gables Apartments on S. Rutherford by a man who initially identified himself as a police officer.
When the apartment’s lone occupant couldn’t see anyone through the door’s peep hole, she retreated into a back room. She says at that point the man banging on the door fired a shot through the front door.
On Friday afternoon, police say they received a “shots fired” call from the University Ridge Apartments next door. The report says several shots were fired behind one of the apartment buildings there.
A witness says several men then fled the scene in an older model silver Chevrolet Impala with a spoiler. An occupant of one of the apartments in that building then discovered several bullet holes in a bathroom wall and a closet door.
