Man charged with attempted murder of 2 MTSU students

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Murfreesboro Police say they’ve made an arrest in the late April shootings of two Middle Tennessee State University students.

The MPD says Jakeil Lindsey has been arrested on two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault in connection with the case.

Police responded to a shots fired call at University Gables Apartments near MTSU early on the morning of April 26. They found 19-year-old student Dartavious Brittenum lying in the parking lot. He’d been shot several times.

Nineteen-year-old Travious Miller was also wounded. Both men were taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center in serious condition.

Jakeil Lindsey was arrested yesterday by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad and booked into the Adult Detention Center.
