NASHVILLE, Tenn. (OSBORNE)  --  Tourism officials say Nashville's riverfront Fourth of July celebration will again be the largest in the country.

Close to a quarter million people routinely show up for the festivities, so if you’re intent on being there Wednesday, better start planning now.

For example, there’s a short list of six items you can bring to the show, but a list of 29 items you can't bring. Look for that list at visitmusiccity.com.

You might also need to plan which of the 15 musical guests you just can’t miss. Dena Ivey heads up planning for the annual event.

“We start with live music at noon and we make sure that all of our acts are Nashville Acts, Nashville Talent. We try to have diversity in the artists in the music.”

Ivey suggests parking should also factor into your planning.

“Park at Nissan Stadium and walk over. Park at Music City Center. Park at some of the outer lying park and ride areas and ride in on the MTA busses.”

Ivey says there will also be three close-in locations where you can catch a ride through Uber, Lyft or a taxi.

A final critical part of your Nashville Fourth plan: Don’t expect to get back home right away.

“They just need to know they’re not going to get out five minutes after the fireworks show so just plan on that. Go eat or drink some more and let the traffic kind of die down.”
