Wilson County Explosion Called "Targeted Attack"

WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (AP) — Federal and local officials are investigating an explosion at a mid-state residence.

The blast took place at a home on Vance Lane in Lebanon around 5 p.m. Monday afternoon.

WTVF-TV reports that officials on the scene described the incident as a "targeted attack" and said the explosion was the result of something sent through the mail.

Officials said one person was killed and one injured. The names of the victims have not yet been released. The injured person was flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

The main campus of McClain Christian Academy is located on the same street. The school said its main campus will be closed Monday.  Classes will be held instead at Lebanon's First Presbyterian Church on West Main Street.
