Israeli Shooter was AWOL from Army
A 19-year-old Israeli man absent without leave from the Army opened fire on Israeli Arabs riding a bus in northern Israel Thursday, killing four people and injuring at least a dozen more. He was beaten to death by an enraged crowd. The violence heightens tensions over Israel's planned pullout from settlements in Gaza.

Florida, Alabama Residents Brace for Hurricane Dennis
Residents of Florida, Alabama and other Gulf of Mexico areas are preparing for Hurricane Dennis. The Category 2 storm is expected to make landfall as early as Sunday. Hurricane Dennis is blamed for at least 10 deaths in Cuba and another 10 deaths in Haiti. From member station WJCT, Lucy Nalpathanchil reports.
