Two Arabic-language satellite networks broadcast another audiotape allegedly from Saddam Hussein in which the ousted Iraqi leader calls on Iraqis to launch a holy war against occupying U.S. troops. English police discover the body of a man believed to be a missing weapons expert at the center of a controversy over Britain's prewar intelligence on Iraq. Bremer Defends Record as Anti-U.S. Attacks Continue
A U.S. soldier and his Iraqi interpreter are killed in a grenade and small arms attack in Baghdad. The incident comes as U.S. civilian administrator Paul Bremer, in Washington to brief Bush administration officials, says U.S. forces are making progress against guerrilla-type resistance from remnants of Saddam Hussein's regime. U.S.: Bodies Identified as Saddam's Sons
A senior Defense Department official tells NPR that Saddam Hussein's former security chief and bodyguard has positively identified two men killed in Iraq as Saddam's sons, Uday and Qusay. The men were shot during a raid by U.S. forces in the town of Mosul. NPR's Tom Gjelten reports.
A DA in Texas seeks to dismiss a murder charge over an alleged self-induced abortion
A 26-year-old woman had been charged with murder after authorities said she caused "the death of an individual by self-induced abortion." A district attorney says she should not be prosecuted.
U.S. Soldier Killed Near Baghdad
An American soldier is killed and another wounded outside Baghdad when their convoy is hit by rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire, U.S. Central Command says. Bremer to Update Lawmakers on Iraq Reconstruction
U.S. civilian administrator Paul Bremer heads to Capitol Hill to brief members of Congress on U.S. efforts to rebuild Iraq. The meetings come as Republicans defend the Bush administration's record in Iraq.
