70-year-old Murf man held at gunpoint, robbed

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A 70-year-old Murfreesboro man says his home was invaded and he was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night.

West Northfield Blvd. resident Alan D. Knight says there was a knock at his door a little after 8 p.m. He says when he opened the door a black male pushed inside and put the barrel of a handgun against his forehead.

Knight tells police the man forced him into his bedroom where the assailant rifled through his belongings, eventually taking his wallet and a bottle of morphine pills.

The police incident report says his assailant was accompanied by a second man he described as a Hispanic male. He told police the two men fled the scene in a four door sedan.

The black male is described as wearing a gray shirt along with a brown ball cap and standing 6 feet tall. The Hispanic male was described as wearing a bronze shirt, loose blue jeans and standing five-feet-six-inches tall with a stocky build.

If you have any information regarding this incident, call Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP. That’s 893-7867.
