Gun pushed into Murf. man's stomach during a robbery fails to fire

MPD

MUFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A Murfreesboro man is lucky to be alive after a gun pushed into his stomach during a robbery misfired.

Old Castle Drive resident Mohammed A. Alnasser says he was visiting a friend at the Aspen Heights apartments just before dawn Saturday when he was confronted by three men wearing joker masks. He told police one of the men pulled out a gun and took his cell phone.

Alnasser says the gun was then pressed into his stomach and the trigger pulled. When the gun failed to go off, the men attacked the 21-year-old leaving him badly beaten.

Alnasser also tells police that the men tried to pull him into a car, but he was able to fight his way free. Friends took him to the St. Thomas Rutherford ER where he was interviewed by police.

Officers say they found blood at the location where Alnasser says he was assaulted. They also found the shoes he lost during the scuffle.

Alnasser wasn’t able to provide much of a description for his attackers, saying only that all three stood between roughly 5’10” and 6” in height.

If you have information about the robbery, call Murfreesboro Crime Stoppers at 1-615-893-STOP. That’s 893-7867.
