Nashville Ballet Holds Open Auditions for Nashville’s Nutcracker

On Sunday, September 8 and Sunday, September 15, Nashville Ballet will hold open auditions for the youth cast of local holiday favorite, Nashville’s Nutcracker. Auditions are open to any child ages 7-11. Complete audition information can be found at www.NashvilleBallet.com/school/youth_cast_auditions.

Last year, almost 160 children from Nashville and surrounding areas were selected to perform with Nashville Ballet’s main and second companies in this local version of the holiday classic.

Two separate youth casts will alternate performances in this local twist on the classic tale of young Clara and her magical Nutcracker. The story begins at the 1897 Centennial Exposition in Nashville, taking the audience on a fantastic adventure through a series of magical worlds while encountering the Snow Queen and King, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, and many more favorite characters.

Nashville’s Nutcracker will take place December 9-22 at TPAC’s Jackson Hall for 12 performances. Tickets for Nashville’s Nutcracker are on sale now and can be purchased at www.NashvilleBallet.com or by calling (615) 782-4040.
