WASHINGTON, DC. (WMOT) -- The Washington Post is calling out mid-state Congressional Rep. Marsha Blackburn for comments she made during a town hall meeting in Fairview last week.
As the mid-state Republican faced off with angry constituents, she reportedly said that two of Obamacare’s most popular provisions were actually Republican creations. The newspaper says Blackburn gave the GOP credit for allowing students to stay on their parent’s medical insurance through age 26 and prohibiting insurers from excluding individuals with pre-existing conditions.
The Post says that’s patently false and awarded her Four Pinocchios. That's the lowest rating the newspaper’s fact-checkers can award.
The newspaper says it reached out to Blackburn's office for clarification but hasn't received a reply.
