NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Nashville Mayor John Cooper said recently Metro is “turning the corner on the pandemic” and he wants the city to plan for a “live, in person Independence Day celebration.”
Cooper announced that goal during a recent presentation to a group of some 270 hospitality industry leaders.
Nashville’s Fourth of July celebration has grown in recent years to be one of the city’s largest annual events. The Convention and Visitors Bureau says the 2019 celebration attracted 343,000 spectators.
Mayor Cooper this past week outlined a phased reopening of city businesses based on vaccination benchmarks.
