President Bush met with British Prime Minister Tony Blair at the White House Tuesday. They discussed aid for Africa and global warming, subjects on which they disagree. Bush pledged an additional $674 million for famine relief in Africa, but it's far less than what Blair was seeking.

As a Category 4 hurricane, Dennis looked destined to become the strongest storm ever to hit the U.S. Gulf Coast. But then, just before coming ashore, Dennis weakened to Category 3 and was later downgraded to a tropical storm. Sunday evening, residents started to survey the damage.

Authorities Continue Probe into London Blasts
London police are saying that three of Thursday's four bombings occurred nearly simultaneously. This suggests timers, rather than suicide bombers, detonated the explosions on the London subway. Earlier, authorities thought the bombs came within a half-hour period.
