MTSU's CIM Gets Innovation Award

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  The Center for Innovation in Media (CIM) at Middle Tennessee State University is traveling in some illustrious company. 

CIM recently scored an honorable mention in the 2012 Associated Press Excellence in Journalism Awards.

This Year’s College Innovator of the year award went to the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for its collaboration with The Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism.

MTSU’s recently inaugurated CIM got the nod from judges for, as the award reads, “reforming and reshaping its student media,” and calling the Center “a model for journalism schools and professional news organizations.”

USA Today and the Seattle Times also won top honors this year from the Associated Press for media innovation.
