This year marks the fifth edition of the MTSU department of Art’s annual Seasonal Scholarship Sale. Scheduled for November 19–21, 2012, it will be held in Todd Art Gallery Thanksgiving week, Monday–Tuesday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., and Wednesday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
All proceeds raised go toward the support of the Department of Art’s ten scholarships for majors studying graphic design, art education, art history, and studio art. With plans for a companion effort online starting in January 2013, the department will maintain a year-round web presence at the MTSU Mall to raise more for its scholarships through the sale of works donated by MTSU art faculty, staff, students, alums, and community artists.
Brenda Johnson, the department’s Executive Aide has even been known to have several of her delicious cake creations on sale for the lucky few able to be there when the sale first opens. Cakes for today are Southern Pecan Praline, Orange Pound Cake, and Maraschino Cherry Pound Cake with Chocolate Chips.
For additional information, donate work or funds, directions, and parking call Eric Snyder at 898-5653 or Brenda Johnson at 898-2455.
