Maestro Masur's first official podium appearance as assistant conductor will be during the 2015 Tanglewood season. He will then make his BSO subscription series debut during the 2015-16 season.
Masur, a 2011 and 2012 Tanglewood Music Center Conducting Fellow, made his BSO conducting debut in July 2012, sharing the podium on a concert with his father Kurt Masur, leading Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik and Piano Concerto in C minor, K.491, with Gerhard Oppitz as soloist. Read a bit about that "plush" and "fresh" performance here.
Masur is currently Associate Conductor of the San Diego Symphony, Principal Guest Conductor of the Munich Symphony, and a frequent guest conductor of the National Philharmonic of Russia.
