NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Vanderbilt Medical Center is racing to develop so-called “antibody-based treatments” to protect against the novel coronavirus.

Vanderbilt says its researchers are using blood drawn from COVID-19 survivors to isolate thousands of antibodies that could be used to prevent the virus “from causing illness.”

Vanderbilt Vaccine Center Dr. James Crowe says the goal is to be ready to start human clinical trials this summer.
