The Red Cross is offering coronavirus antibody tests in exchange for blood donations

cdc.gov

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  The Red Cross is offering to test for COVID-19 antibodies in exchange for blood donations.

The agency stresses the antibody test does not indicate whether you currently have the illness. It will indicate only if you have previously contracted the virus and developed antibodies in response to the infection.

The Red Cross is also stressing that prospective donors should not attempt to donate blood if they are currently feeling unwell.

The anti-body test is a limited time offer. Reservations are required.

If you suspect you may have coronavirus, or have reason to believe you’ve been exposed to the virus, remember that free testing is available weekdays at your local county health department.
