NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) — The voters of western Williamson County returned embattled Republican Rep. Glen Casada to the Tennessee Legislature on Tuesday.
Casada won a solid 60 percent of the votes cast, beating Democrat Elizabeth Madeira and Independent Bradley Fiscus.
It’s another high point in Casada’s roller coaster career in the Tennessee House.
Casada ascended to the speakership of the House ahead of the 2019 legislative session, but was forced to resign that post following a scandal that involved an exchange of sexually explicit text messages about women with a top aide.
Casada was also fined by the state earlier this year for mishandling campaign contributions.
