NASHVILLE, Tenn. (OSBORNE) -- If you’re having trouble getting in the holiday spirit, WMOT and our friends at Nashvillefunforfamilies.com has some mid-state activity and event ideas that might help.

Bring the kids ages 4 to 11 to your local Lowe’s store this Saturday and build a holiday train together. The DIY workshops kick off at 9 a.m. See a store location near youfor the details and registration.

If you’re in the Goodletsville area Saturday, Nashvillefunforfamilies’ Rachel Kline suggests checking out the ornament making class at the Delmas Long Community Center.

“You can make an ornament for your tree and a special treat for Santa’s reindeer. Enjoy treats, hot cocoa and a special Christmas story at this event. The fun begins at 9:30 a.m. and the cost is $10 per family.”

Lebanon will hold its annual Christmas on the Square event this Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.  Rachel says you can enjoy live Christmas music, kid’s activities, food trucks, a live nativity scene and photos with Santa.

Franklin’s Dickens of a Christmas this Saturday and Sunday is a beloved mid-state tradition. Rachel says, best of all, it's a free event.

“There will be over 200 musicians, dancers and characters filing the streets. Dress in your holiday finest and get a picture with Father Christmas or in the vintage truck holiday photo area.”
