NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Nashville Mayor John Cooper says he sees initial signs that Metro’s latest COVID-19 case spike may be leveling off.
Cooper told reporters Monday that the two-week running average of new infections is down, the virus transmission rate is back below one, and the positivity rate has fallen 28 percent in two weeks.
However, the mayor went on to say Nashville is still “in the woods” and that “difficult work still lies ahead.”
Copper says he’ll keep the city at modified Phase 2 of his economic recovery plan through at least the middle of August.
Health officials reported 363 new infections and 12 deaths during the 24 hour period ending Monday morning.
