NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Well over 13,000 people have signed a petition asking Gov. Bill Lee to order more stringent measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Ina letter sent to the governor Friday by some 2,000 physicians statewide, the doctors asked Lee to order Tennesseans to shelter at home, non-essential businesses closed, and recent travelers quarantined.
The petition says “It is our estimation that we have little time to “flatten the curve.”
The doctors say they fear if the governor does not take more decisive action Tennessee’s hospitals could be overwhelmed, resulting in a shortage of beds and ventilators.
