Faltering First Steps for Tennessee's Big Dance

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Tennessee’s big dance got off to a rocky start Thursday as top-seeded Kansas state trounced the mid-state’s Austin Peay and Indiana beat Chattanooga.

Kansas ran away from Austin Peay 105-79 while Chattanooga lost to Indiana by nearly the same wide margin, 99 to 74.

Volunteer State schools get another chance to make their NCAA mark today as the Belmont women face off against Michigan State Friday morning at 11 at Mississippi State.

The Middle Tennessee men take the court at 1:45 Friday at St. Louis, also against Michigan State. You can hear that game right here on WMOT.

Friday evening beginning at 4 The Lady Vols will play Green Bay at , Arizona.

The Middle Tennessee women play Saturday. They’ll challenge number five seed Florida State at around noon at College Station, Texas. Again, that game will be heard right here on WMOT.
