MUFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- The Nashville Ballet delivers its winter performance this weekend. The show will include three distinct dances.

In a press release, the ballet says the first performance is entitled Cryin' Out and features the music of genre-busting songwriter Gary Nickolson.

Billy the Kid is the second piece to be performed. It's based on the 1938 work choreographed by Eugene Loring and explores why the life of a typical 19th century boy veered into lawlessness.

The third piece hitting the stage this weekend is entitled Salsa Dreams. It's a dance the Nashville Ballet has performed in the past and Artistic Director Paul Vasterling says its very much an interactive piece.

"Last time we did it we had people dancing in the aisles. Really! I may even play on that a little bit and get them up on stage or something."

Salsa Dreams, Billy the Kid and Cryin’ Out, will appear at TPAC’s Polk Theater this weekend. You can see the Nasvhille Ballet at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings with a 2 o'clock matinee on Sunday. Visit nashvilleballet.com for details and tickets.
