Scrap Stolen from Rutherford County Landfill

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  You’ve no doubt heard that old saying, “One man’s trash is another man’s”…stolen property.

The Tennessee Bureau of investigation says it’s arrested three men in connection with a scheme to steal scrap metal from the Rutherford County Landfill.

The TBI says 43-year-old Joey Black, of Lascassas, 39-year-old Clint Michael Polesec, of Murfreesboro and 45-year-old Michael Wayne Harris, of Christiana have been arrested for theft over $1000 and conspiracy to commit theft.

Harris owns Dumpsters Unlimited.  Police say he would leave a dumpster at the landfill for Polesec and Black to fill with scrap metal using company time and equipment. The TBI says Harris then sold the scrap and the trio would split the profit.

The three men were booked into the Rutherford County Jail on $2500 bond each.
