ARE YOU READY FOR A WHITE THANKSGIVING?

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAYS A FAST MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS SWEEPING ACROSS THE AREA AND COULD BRING US A LITTLE SNOW ESPECIALLY IN NORTHERN AND EASTERN AREAS OF THE MID-STATE.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW IS IN EFFECT FOR A LARGE PART OF EASTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE THROUGH 9 AM. ONE INCH OF SNOW ACCUMULATION WITH SLIGHTLY HIGHER LOCAL AMOUNTS IS FORECAST.

A HEADS UP IF YOUR HOLIDAY TRAVEL TAKES YOU ACROSS THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU THIS MORNING. YOU MAY ENCOUNTER SLICK HIGHWAYS... ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.

LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE FURTHER WEST...MAINLY IN A BAND FROM CLARKSVILLE OVER TOWARD GALLATIN AND WATERTOWN...AND THEN DOWN TOWARD CARTHAGE...SMITHVILLE... MCMINNVILLE AND ALTAMONT.

ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE HALF INCH ARE POSSIBLE IN THOSE AREAS.

SOME SNOW FLURRIES ARE POSSIBLE EVEN FURTHER SOUTH AND WEST...TOWARDNASHVILLE ...DICKSON ...COLUMBIA ...MURFREESBORO ...AND SHELBYVILLE ...BUT NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED IN THOSE AREAS.
