This rarely performed work is a chance to hear the Viennese master at his finest, while Ravel’s La Valse is the French composer’s endlessly inventive take on the Viennese waltz, with kaleidoscopic colors and a breathtaking climax. Composer Jennifer Higdon returns to Nashville for the live recording of her Viola Concerto, which will feature Roberto Diaz performing on a rare Stradivarius viola — one of the very few still in existence today.
