Nashville Rep. Jim Cooper: 'Trump is attempting to sabotage the USPS'

Jim Cooper

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Tennessee Congressional Rep. Jim Cooper has accused U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy of “tampering with the mail” on President Donald Trump’s orders.

Cooper notes that tampering with the mail is a federal crime.

The Nashville Democrat believes the president and DeJoy are slowing mail service in an attempt to subvert the November election.

Cooper said DeJoy should be arrested by the House Sgt. at Arms if he doesn’t show for a House hearing into the matter.

Senator Marsha Blackburn is the only Republican member of Tennessee’s GOP Congressional delegation to comment on the Post Office controversy.

Blackburn posted a meme suggesting postal concerns are just another in a series of Democratic hoaxes intended to unseat President Trump.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday she will call the House back into session this week. That session will likely take place on Saturday.
