Nashville Police raid wrong home, 3 officers decommissioned

MNPD

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne)  --  Three Nashville Police Officers are off the job following the botched raid Wednesday of an innocent Edgehill family’s home.

Police used a battering ram to enter the home while searching for a 16-year-old suspect. It now appears the teen hadn’t lived in the raided home for nearly two years.

Interim Police Chief John Drake reacted quickly to the execution of a search warrant on the wrong address. Drake decommissioned three officers while the investigation proceeds. Between them, the officers have 38 years on the force.

Chief Drake says the department will also review its search warrant process.
