NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- Tennessee will this week be the only state to have both of its Senators vote to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.
Former Ambassador to Japan Bill Haggerty was sworn in as the state’s junior Senator Sunday. Haggerty and senior Senator Marsha Blackburn plan to join nine other Republican senators challenging certification of the Electoral College results on Tuesday.
In a press statement, Blackburn called Biden’s victory “tainted.”
A bipartisan group of ten senators on Sunday chastised their colleagues, for organizing the challenge. They wrote in part “The voters have spoken, and Congress must now fulfill its responsibility to certify the election results.”
