Being For The Benefit…

The world had already started to change with singles being delivered in lieu of albums, as it has been for the last fifty years. And I think that the quarantine has hastened the delivery of single tracks, and many of them are in support of non-profits. WMOT thanks the artists, and applauds the initiative.

Here are 6 very recent additions.

Mavis Staples – “All In It Together”, produced by Jeff Tweedy, benefits Chicago’s My Block My Hood to ensure seniors have what they need to battle Covid.

Molly Tuttle with Old Crow Medicine Show – “Helpless”, their take on the classic Neil Young song to benefit Whyhunger’s Rapid Response Fund.

Old Crow Medicine Show – “Nashville Risin’”, a song for Nashville Tornado relief, to benefit the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee at CFMT.org

Mike Campbell – “Lockdown”. Mike and The Dirty Knobs will have their full length album out later this year, but this is newly released to benefit Feeding America.

Edie Brickell with Willie Nelson – “Sing To Me, Willie”. Edie sent this out to Willie to celebrate his recent birthday, to benefit Music Cares Covid 19 Fund.

John Paul White & Rosanne Cash – “We’re All In This Together”. A track to salute to medical workers and family impacted by Covid, to benefit Music Health Alliance.
