NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mike Osborne) -- The Tennessee National Guard has joined the fight against coronavirus.

Gov. Bill Lee told reporters during a Tuesday afternoon press briefing that 250 guard members have been deployed statewide. He notes 150 are medically trained. Most will help rural counties staff 35 virus testing and assessment sites statewide.

During the same press briefing state officials reported that the COVID19 count in Tennessee stands at 667 infections, up 52 cases in 24 hours. Gov. Bill Lee told reporters he expects those numbers will continue to climb.
