MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT) -- Middle Tennessee State basketball standout Ebony Rowe is getting a great deal of attention.
Last week Rowe was named the NCAA Player of the Week as well as the Tennessee Sports Writers Player of the Week. In addition, she received a top honor from MTSU’s new league, Conference USA.
This week Rowe has once again been named Player of the Week by Tennessee Sports Writers, following a run-away performance against mid-state rival Austin Peay State.
Sportscaster Justin Beasley, with WMOT reporting partner MT-10, says its one for the record books.
“Twenty-nine points and 20 rebounds at Austin Peay to get the second award in a row; I’m not sure if that’s ever been done in Middle Tennessee basketball. I talked with Coach Rick Insell and he doesn’t remember it ever being done.”
Beasley notes that Rowe is a Naismith and Wade Watch List candidate and has attracted the attention of the WNBA.
The Lexington, Kentucky native is a senior at Middle Tennessee State University majoring in engineering.
