Possible Road Rage Incident Results in One Death

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  Murfreesboro Police believe road rage may be responsible for a fatal crash on Broad near Singer Road. The crash took place just after sunrise Friday morning.

Witnesses are telling police that a Ford truck and a white ”Oldsmobile type car” traveling north on Broad appeared to be engaged in a conflict and were driving erratically.

A press statement put out this morning by the MPD says that. “After swerving to avoid the white car, the Ford truck veered off the road, crossed incoming traffic and rolled multiple times. The driver was ejected and died at the scene.”

Three other passengers were transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

The white care reportedly fled the scene and police say it may have been spotted a few minutes later near the Nissan plant in Smyrna.

The names of the dead and injured have not yet been released.

The MPD is asking that anyone with information on this incident call Crime Stoppers at 615-893-STOP.
