Murf. store robbed at gunpoint Thursday night

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WMOT)  --  A Murfreeesboro Dollar General Store has been held up at gunpoint.

Murfreesboro Police say they were called to the Dollar General on West Northfield Blvd. just before 10 p.m. last night.

Two store employees told police they were in the process of closing up for the night when a man armed with a pistol and wearing a bandana over his face came into the store.

The employees say they complied when the man asked for the money in the register. The robber then left the store.

A passerby told police that she saw the subject headed on foot toward the nearby Haynes Manor apartments.

Police say they searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

He was described by the store employees as a black male with a tall, thin build and shoulder length dreads. He was wearing black sweat pants, a dark grey shirt and a black ball cap with a red bill.
